Details
There are many ways to tackle tough terrain. You can, for instance, add lots of suspension travel to a bike. There's nothing wrong with that approach, but the Catch 2 takes a different tack. By combining our brisk-pedaling Level Link suspension with modern geometry and wide, plus-size tires, we've created a bike that possesses the playful personality of a sporty, mid-travel bike with the traction and control of a bike that packs much more suspension travel.
The Catch's aluminum frame features carefully hydroformed tubes for reliable durability and low weight. This top-tier Catch also wears an equally impressive component mix that includes a Shimano SLX 1x11 drivetrain paired with Race Face cranks, a Fox Rhythm 34 suspension fork, Shimano SLX hydraulic disc brakes, and a KS E30i dropper post. Sand, mud, rock gardens, kitty litter over hardpack, the Catch is a blast when exploring the trails less traveled.
- Level Link rear suspension
- 27.5+ Blanchard tubeless-ready wheels with forgiving 2.8" tires
- Extra stiffness added by Boost 148 rear thru-axle and Boost 110 thru-axle fork
- Shimano SLX 1x11 drivetrain with Race Face Aeffect Cinch cranks
- Shimano SLX hydraulic disc brakes (180mm rotors)
Wider than standard yet narrower than fat, plus-size rims and tires hit the sweet spot in grip, stability, and speed, giving you more confidence on technical terrain. Compared to a standard tire you’ll feel grip in places you wouldn’t expect thanks to a bigger contact patch and greater rollover clearance. More air volume allows lower tire pressures which softens bumps and increases float on sand or snow. Whether you’re a novice or an expert, the benefits of plus-size tires and rims will amplify your mountain biking fun.
A dropper seatpost allows you to quickly lower and raise your seat to give you an ideal riding position. Dropping your seat creates a lower center of gravity for better control and maneuverability on steep descents, while raising it puts you at normal riding height for efficient pedaling.
Construction can include either hydraulic- or cable-actuated systems and the post’s travel can either be infinitely adjustable or stopped at set intervals, depending on the model.
Dropper seatposts come in standard lengths and diameters and vary by the amount of travel.
